It’s time to ‘Gimme 5’ at Penny Black and today I have decided to focus on some beautiful floral stamps and we are going to be ‘Cutting it Oddly’!
I think that it’s fun to have something a little different on our handmade creations, it’s what makes them unique and I have five same but different designs to share.
Scroll down a bit and you can catch the video on how I made these cards.
Starting with this gorgeous Lustrous flower, this was an easy choice with the way that it flows across the card.
Lots of Prismacolor shading and colouring today, and it’s been a while since I have used them so found it a fun challenge for myself.
I cracked out the Zigs direct to cardstock for the second design.
and a little sympathy butterfly seemed to fit quite well here…
A bolder Dancing Daisies design which really only involved a little black shading.
Most of the sentiments were die cuts to add a little something to the cards.
A bit busier and with a touch of foiled gold and a confetti heart made this pretty card slightly different to the others.
It’s also cut to a square which is so not my ‘go to’ card size.
My final card was the funnest to colour, and I love how Prismacolor Pencils pop on coloured cardstock.
I added a scattering of sparkling clear sequins to most of the cards to help bring them together a bit more.
You can see my video here or Watch it in HD at Youtube.

Did you know this is being shared at the Penny Black channel as well… I would love you to check it out HERE!

SUPER gorgeous cards!!!
LOVE the designs and coloring..Amazing!!
Love to watch you color…. so talented!!! These cards are stunning. Hard to pick a fav….I forwarded your post to my crafting friend so she could see what you created.
Great job and thanks.
You are so clever Therese, I swear I could just sit here and copy all your cards every day and never run out of beautiful cards. Everyone of them are an inspiration. Somuch beauty and wonderful colour, I love them all. I think I need to come visit but then I would have to be so rude and say you go on with your life and I will just play in here for a couple of weeks, could you just leave a meal out for me every now and then. Ive been thinking of running away from my life for a bit…….they will never find me at your place, that is unless you ring and let them know!!!!
I promise I won’t tell, you can come hide and we can colour together x
Absolutely, positively GORGEOUS card set, Therese! I love all the blue and of course your coloring with pencils, which is amazing! I also love your partial cutting on these cards, too…I always forget to use this technique…thanks for inspiring me!
Beautiful cards, love the colour combinations. You have just made my wish list a lot longer, but I’m well over my crafty budget for August (and September) so I’ll have to settle for having a fresh look at my existing stamps. Sigh..
Gorgeous cards Therese! Love them all and I love that butterfly!
Therese these cards are so beautiful. i get the shakes sometimes when i fussy cut but i am going to try and hope i don’t cut and flowers heads off. lol just beautiful. thanks. hugs
These are so gorgeous Therese – especially the first one I think. The unique cutting gives the card such fab character – love it!
Those blues are gorgeous! As are all those images….especially the second and last ones. Your coloring is impeccable, and your fussy cutting around the images boggles my mind! I couldn’t do it nearly as nicely. These are all beautiful, Therese! Love them!
I love the blue theme. All are gorgeous, as usual.
Oh I love these cards – they are all so beautiful and different! I love your coloring and how you cut them to really showcase those flowers! It’s a wonderful technique – thank you so much for sharing it!!
Lovely cards Therese, you do such wonderful work – all very inspiring. Thanks so much for sharing.
Oh Therese, how gorgeous, how amazing are this cards, each one is a magnificent work of art. And your fussy cutting is so perfect, when I saw the images before I watch the video, I thought all of them were die cut!!
Love the beautiful shades of blue you used on all of this lovely cards, thank you so much for all the inspiration.
Big hugs,
Maria Rodriguez.
Absolutely love these cards! I don’t understand the notch you put onto some of your linings. Can you show this in a future video or photo? Thanks so much for all of your beautiful cards!
Beautifully done Therese! I love the first one, the tulips and the wreath styled card the most. It’s fun seeing a colour theme!
All of these cards are just beautiful! I especially love the one with the black shading.
These are all beautiful! I love the “odd cutouts” and the pretty color combinations. Lovely!
Gorgeous cards Therese, your colouring and fussy cutting is amazing. Thank you x
These cards are GORGEOUS! Blue is not usually a go-to color for me, but I’m going to have to rethink that. I have a friend who loves blue. You have inspired me to make some cards for her!
What a wonderful tutorial for pencil coloring…coloring in general and card design. Spectacular set of cards…all the same but so beautifully different.
The only item you haven’t mentioned in your supplies list is that gorgeous blue cardstock? Is it something you can share with me? ;]
An exceptionally wonderful video, and your card designs are so phenomenal, Therese!!! xx
=]
Hi Michele, the cardstock is from American Crafts and the colour is WAVE, hope this is helpful. Big Hugs my friend, Therese x
Gorgeous cards, Therese, but the best is watching your video. Thanks.
Gorgeous, handsome cards Therese! Love them all!
What beautiful stamps and ideas, putting a new twist on the fussy cutting makes for eye catching cards. Hard to choose a favourite but I do love daisies……Thank you for sharing the tips and ideas x
What beautiful cards!! I too like the blues! I love to color with Prisma pencils, and I just “discovered” the fun of gamsol with them!! Thanks for all the tips. I haven’t yet tried using them on colored card stock. I had stamped and colored a panel of flowers and put it aside. Now I want to turn it into a card to send. Watching your video gave me an idea for doing something different. I appreciate the tip on stamping with a light color ink and then using that (instead of the pencils) for a light under color!! I’d like to give that a try. Thank you very much, Therese!!
These are amazing! I’ve been using my colored pencils recently and I appreciate all the fabulous tips for coloring and for cutting these beautiful cards. Your fussy cutting is perfect, too! 🙂
Therese, these gorgeous blue florals (and butterfly) are so fabulous with their special cuts. Amazing how a little Smart cutting gives such a fantastic impact. Looking forward to viewing the video.
WOW these are gorgeous! Love them all. I agree with Aileen I could just sit and CASE all your cards!
Every single one of these cards is beautiful. I love the blue card stock. It’s such a happy color. I think the last card in the video is my favorite – if I can only pick one. Thanks for all the inspiration you give all of us.
Gaspingly gorgeous cards, Therese … all those blue hues are just beautiful … and I love how you’ve cut them to give that extra pizazz to your awesome colouring! Thank you, watching your video was such a wonderful way to start my Sunday! Hugs, Anita 🙂
Your fussy cutting is beyond words….
These cards are soooooo awesome!!! Love all of them – can not say which one is my favorite, they are all great!
Loved watching you colour and cut those beautiful cards. I now love blue flowers thanks to your video. Oh how much fun it would be to just spend a day card making with you. Love watching you work… no play.
So many ideas, so little time to make cards!! (I probably should stop watching videos!) I will definitely be storing up these ideas for the future. Stunning! Thanks so much for all your work in not just making the cards for us, but doing videos and blog posts. I know that all takes time in your busy life!! You’d probably rather make more cards than edit videos! TFS.
Loved all your gprgeous flowery cards…The card with the dancing daisies is amazingly beautiful…spring is finally here..yay..!!
Amazing! These cards are stunning. I love everyone of them and I love your “blue moos” ! Your videos are the best. I always learn so much. TFS.
‘Scuse me while I pick my jaw up off the floor. These are amazing, Therese! Your coloring is stunning and I love all the fussy cut edges – it adds so much fun to the designs! I am also really digging those die cut sentiments which is not good as I’m on a VERY strict shopping ban! (God help me…) My favourite little touch is the tiny butterfly on the sentiment. Tiny but big impact.
Stunning.
Just beautiful X five 🙂
Live your fussy cutting which initially I thought was from a die! Can I kindly ask what the scissors are you were using which had blue on them? The fiskars had orange on them so I was hoping you can tell me what they are please?
Thanks kindly
Angie 🌹🌹🌹
Hi Angela, my scissors would have to be at least 10 years old. I bought them in the UK and I am pretty sure that they were released by Papermania but made by Tonic. Tonic have released an exact version that is now orange and I am not sure how they compare the Fiskars brand, so crossed fingers you may be able to find them. I love these scissors so much that I bought one of the orange pairs recently at a papercraft show in Brisbane ‘just in case’ my blue ones died… is that weird? thank so much for your lovely comments and for taking the time to visit, hope you have a great weekend, Therese
All of these cards are beautiful! My head is just exploding with ideas. I must get off of the computer and look at the stamps I have to figure out what I can do. Thanks for the inspiration!
All five are so pretty and very creative shapes… you’re so good at fussy cutting! xx
I’m escaping today into your videos, Therese, that I am so far behind in viewing. I love your voice and how you explain your ideas. These cards are so beautiful and I’ve always loved the oddly cut edges. Speaking of, have I told you how perfectly you fussy cut.
Thanks for these and the video. Absolutely fabulous. I’m so inspired by these.
