How to Use Prismacolors to Fix Copic Mistakes + Video!

Well this card nearly didn’t make the cut!  Did ya ever just have one of those days when maybe you should have taken up macrame instead lol.  Today’s video is part of my Colour with ‘U’ Series and it’s time for some no-line Speed Colouring with Copics (and Prismacolors?)!

I was so lucky to recieve some gorgeous stamps from the Colorado Craft Company and their Big & Bold selection melted my heart….  well, maybe my ice cream because that is the one I ‘had to colour’ immediately.

It’s from a set called Sweetest Birthday Cone and I decided to no-line colour and it went downhill from there, check out the video for the deets, the link is below.

The sentiment is from the Perfume Bouquet Stamp Set (which is stunning…  I ‘need’ to colour this one too)!

  1. Tying knots will never satisfy you, nor would I watch you tie them, Therese!! lol You’ve conquered that tiny little boo boo with the most delicious results!! You are dangerous, my friend – for my wallet, and my waistline! xx
    =]

  2. Gorgeous ice cream, Therese! I loved your pencils over the Copics. I always forget that option! I’m with Michele, I’ll watch you color any day, but not tie knots – lol!

  3. Your colouring is amazing here, I can feel my blood sugar rising just looking at it. I couldn’t see the brown and had to rewind a couple of times. I do like the black sentiment better. Looks like that stamp would be great on 5×7 cards.

  4. Truly incredible colouring Therese, but would expect nothing less from you. I have the Perfume Bouquet stamp, but not this one with the ice cream. They are lovely stamps. I’ll leave watching the video until tomorrow. Fell asleep on the sofa, now off to bed❤️

  5. You rescued this beautifully with the prismacolours. I will admit, but schh between just us, that many many of my creations to this way & not just cards. I also fully agree with the love of Colorado bold stamps, but my bank manager doesn’t lol x

  6. The mint chocolate chip cone looks scrumptious. Thanks for the video using the Prismacloors tomaddmto Coptic coloring. I invested in Altenew Artitst Markers instead of Copics but don’t think of getting out the Prismacolors to help with mistakes. Thanks for th. Reminder

  7. Yes you did get there! Fabulous card. They are really large stamps.

I went shopping in my lunch break yesterday and bought a prismacolor sharpener. Seriously considering more pencils (they have a sale on!) Will look for a pencil extender that looks like a very useful tool. I’m assuming it works on most pencils (cause I have derwents intense & studio plus others!!). See why I really am struggling to justify another purchase!! 🙂 Also need to weigh up prismacolors over polochromos and how many do I really need? 12/24?

    1. Okay Vicki, here’s my 2 cents. I have both Prismacolor and Polychromos and continually reach for the Prismacolors…. I think the main reasons are – I like their colours better / they feel like they blend more easily / and they are more afforable and more available here in Australia. I actually got a full set from Amazon in the US at the equivalent of 65c AUD per pencil – delivered! yes, the pencils are softer and i’ve had a few over the years that I just couldn’t sharpen (they kept breaking) but overall I love them. NowI must try my Polychromos again…. because I know they are wonderful pencils, just not my ‘go to’. As for the pencil extender I bought mine from Eckersleys (are they in Vic? – they are an art supply store) and they are quite cheap, mine has a silver holder at the end which expands and I can pull a ring overtop to hold the pencil in place, so most pencil brands would fit in my opinion. Hope this is helpful, have a fabulous weekend, Therese x

      1. Thank you for your “2cents”!
65c AUD for a pencil better check that out! I love that I can just add one pencil at a time if I need to rather than buy a whole new set – well most brands seem to do that. Eckersleys is the art shop I spent my lunch hour in! so no doubt if they don’t have an extender in stock they should be able to get it for me.
I read you can put pencils in the sun/warm environment and the core softens and comes back together making them easier to sharpen when they have hardened again. I made of a mental note of this because when my kiddos were little they kept dropping their pencils and breaking the lead inside.
Yes enjoy the weekend. I have a new label maker (a recent gift) to make friends with.

  8. Oh my, this looks yummy! Mint chocolate chip is my favorite and you absolutely made this stamp come alive.

  9. Definitely deliciously saved, Therese … the detail you added with the prismacolour pencils gives this scrumptious ice cream such ooomph! Mint choc … yummy … and I was thinking also of pistachio with chocolate chunks ,,, also yummy! Hugs, Anita 🙂
