Have you tried partial die cutting? What about DOUBLE partial die cutting? It’s easy to do and in today’s video I will show you how!
First, I have some exciting news I am a Guest Designer at Concord & 9th this month along with these incredible artists Channin, Seeka and Yasmin, seriously, check out what they have made with these sets!
I gotta say today’s colour combo makes me very happy. I was planning on making an ‘all white’ house card, that changed after I finished the Yuletide Ornaments card.

These big ornaments are such a fun image that I had to put 3 of them all on the one card lol.

It was easy to add some quick colour with the blending tool and die cut them out with coordinating dies.

Next I used the Card Stacks Base Dies to create an interactive design.

I wanted the houses from the Home for the Holidays and panels to be joined.

See HOW in my video here or Watch it in HD at YouTube!
Now who doesn’t love a GIVEAWAY! I have had the most wonderful time sharing this new Christmas release with you from Concord & 9th! Did you see…. I have 2 more videos HERE & HERE and this post HERE with lots more inspiration!

Hey Therese….this card is soooooo stinkin cute and I adore the color combos of the CS you chose! I love partial diecutting….it just gives it such a ‘cool’ professional look! Thanks for the opportunity to win, Therese. I hope you and hubby are staying safe. Take care, dear.

I totally agree, aren’t they wonderful!
Love these cards! The colours are fantastic. Thanks for the fun tutorial. I don’t make step or interactive cards but I enjoy seeing what other people make. Concord & 9th has such fun and beautiful products! Thanks for sharing!
I totally agree, their products are so unique and fun! thank you Tammy!
These are gorgeous and your video makes the partial die cutting look so easy.
thanks so much Jackie!
These are truly beautiful, as always. I think Concord and 9th has the most amazing colors of cardstock. I use it more than any other.
It feels like I could almost pull out any colours together and make a great combo!!
The dies are so sweet but the colours you used are fantastic!
I love their colours and especially how fun it is to mix them up!
I’d love to receive your beautiful card!! Love everything about it. The colours, the technique and obviously the love that goes into its creation. Thank you!
You are so sweet, thank you Janelle!
Bet the additional cards one would make would go more quickly after setting the first one up. Who doesn’t love a house?
Yes I agree, the first time is always the slowest and a ‘production line’ style would definitely speed things up!
These cards are AMAZING! I love the winter scene and the gorgeous ornaments!!! The colors are outstanding!!
So happy that you liked them Meghan!
I like the 2nd card as much as the first! Large ornaments make for a quick and easy card to duplicate.
I agree, and this ornament would look just as fabulous on it’s own as a centre piece and then the card would’ve been even quicker to make lol.
I love the houses so much! I NEED THEM!!!
I agree, they are totally fabulous!
The recipient of this card is really the lucky one. Love this technique!
Thanks so much Gloria!
Great video….I love your sense of humor! I really like your card a lot! The colors are great too!
Thanks so very much Jill, these cards were such fun to make!
There wasn’t a place to leave COMMENTS on your Youtube. I have no idea how to leave a comment because of it……I LOVE the houses….
ooh that is odd… there is usually a place to comment directly below the video, but I think it may be different if you are watching on a device like a phone or tablet… you may need to scroll on the ‘right’ side of the video right to the end if directly underneath isn’t an option. Thanks so much for taking the time to let me know, I will check it out!
I just saw this video, and I loved the double die cutting. The card came out beautiful! The die set would a great addition to my stash! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks so much Miriam, this die would be a great addition for sure (and not just for the holiday season either).
Your double die cutting is wonderful!
thanks so much Kelli!
Wouldn’t it be fun if there really was a purple sky with snowflakes? Loved your cards and video!
hahaha yes indeed, but it’s rain that we need at the moment lol. thanks so much Barb!
I love the colors you used on your house card! So unexpected and fresh!
Thanks so much Kim!
One of the things I still need for my stash is a good set of houses in stamps or dies. Home for the Holidays looks amazing.
Totally agree, we all need them Roxanne (wink).
Interactive cards are the next step in creating fun cards for family and friends. I love the color choices and the cute little village that you created.
Yes I agree Barbara, it just makes them so much more interesting!
So beautiful! You always have such wonderful color combos! And putting three of those beautiful ornaments on the one card is brilliant!
You are so sweet, thank you Susan!
Love the ornament card! Both cards are wonderful. I watched your video and you explain the die cutting so easy to follow. Thanks!
Thanks so much Lisa, I am so glad you enjoyed it!
Wow I love this colour pallet, and the ornaments are stunning 💙💚💜
So happy you like them Tracy!!
Lovely cards!
Thank you Kathy!
Oh Therese
I’ve got to say these are just awesome.

Love this colour combo, especially the eggplant as sky.
It’s such a lovely rich purple colour I agree!
Everything about your project is wonderful! The color choices you used are just beautiful, I’ll have to try this for my next Christmas card.
Sooo happy you enjoyed it Tracy!
You are such a clever cookie Therese! I love both of these cards AND the colours. Such a wonderful release from Concord and 9th yet again. Thank you for the fantastic inspiration this month, it has been wonderful.
Keep well.

You always say the nicest things, thank you Marisela!
Hi, Therese! I don’t know if the issue is on my end, but my comments have not been posting so I am going to try again. I apologize if my first comment does appear later. 😀 Okay, your cards are always gorgeous. The ornaments are stunning!
Nailed it Marisela, both your comments came through!
Therese, I commented on IG, and then I came here to look, and I seriously want to just soak in every little detail, so I am eager to watch your video and see exactly how you made these cards and learn some new tips on die cutting!
Yay! thank you so much, hope you enjoyed the video too!
Hi Therese, love your card, thanks for the chance to win.
Rene from OZ x
Yay! thank you so much Rene!
Wonderful cards! I love the scene you created with the houses, and the ornaments are just gorgeous!
I had such fun with these houses, what a fun release!!
Love the colors you chose. Great card
Thanks so much Janine!
Never considered the ornament set… until now! I was struggling with house color combos but this one is wonderful. WooHoo!
Thanks so much Cheryl, my initial plan was to create the houses ‘all white’ I think that would also look wonderful. but after I created the ornament card I just had to recreate the colours on the other card lol.
Beautiful cards! My favorite colors!!!
so happy you like them Kathy!
Love your card! Thanks for the walk through!
Thanks so very much Teri!
Great instructions and beautiful cards. Love your creativity! Thanks for sharing.
thank you so very much Kathy!
Your card made me feel jolly! Great tutorial and wonderful products from Concord & 9th!
Yay! thanks so much!
I love this release and you have certainly highlighted these products beautifully. Gorgeous cards.
C&9th totally nailed this release, I agree Debbie, it’s fabulous!
Absolutely love, love, love your card, Therese! The double partial die cut technique makes your card extra special! Your color choices are awesome! Thank you so much for sharing your talent with all of us!!
so happy that you enjoyed this Marsha, these cards were such fun to make!
Best cards ever! Want to try double die cutting after seeing your video.
Yay! hope you have fun with it Lucy!!
I’m super excited that you’re guest designing for Concord and 9th this month yay! I always enjoy all you do with Altenew as well. Love your videos!
You are the best, thank you so much Shawn!
Love the colours you used for this really cute card❤️
Thanks so very much Delia!
Beautiful color on both the ornaments and the houses, Therese. I saw Jennifer use the interactive die but she glued the houses on. I think I’d go that way too although your made the partial die cutting look easy.
Yes that would have been much easier lol. But you know what it’s like when you have a plan in your head lol. thanks so much for your lovely visit here again Bobby!
Wow, what beautiful cards! I think if you’d made the house scene card in white it would’ve lost it’s impact. The colour combinations are gorgeous and so unusual but work so well. I love the bauble card, too – it’s big and bold and beautiful.
I think the colours made all the difference too… but I think I’m still going to have to create the ‘white’ just to get it out of my system lol.
You make such beautiful cards! I love to watch you create.
thanks so much Margaret!
I like your approach of partial die cutting the house on the snowy ground. It’s so smart as it minimized the bulk of the card, especially since there are many layers in the house details and the multiple house sections.
It did add an extra step, but I liked the finished result too, thank you so much Meg!
Both cards are lovely. I love the color scheme you’ve chosen for both. Thanks as always for sharing.
Thanks so much Bertha!
The houses were too cute already and then I saw the wreaths on the front doors!! Love the colours too 🙂
I know right, how cool are those wreaths…. and did you see the lamp pole too?
Oh my goodness, I just stumbled onto this video, I have never seen this done before. I love it!
I’m always lookin for card ideas & this is awesome.
Thank you so much for sharing.
Thanks so very much Cori!
I love the colors that you used on both of these cards. Thank you for the info on partial day cutting also. Can’t wait to use this die set (Home for the holidays)
Thanks so much Debbie!
Aww!! This little Christmas Village is so adorable!! Love the 3D effect on your card, it will look so beautiful as decoration on top of the mantel this Holiday Season.
Thank you for sharing and for the chance to win this awesome price.
Stay healthy and safe.
XO
Maria Rodriguez.
I totally agree Maria, it’s the cutest set and such fun to play with too!
Therese! This is so amazing! Loving the colors – eggplant might be a favorite in that pack of paper for me, too! This darling die set would be perfect for using every scrap of it!
=]
I totally agree, these are cardstock ‘scraps’ that I struggle to throw out so these little die cuts are perfect for them!
I just love all the detail on the little houses, this scene is just gorgeous, and put together beautifully by a card master. Love it all. Makes me wish we got to have a white Christmas in Australia. Thank you for sharing.
I know right… but I decided years ago that if I want to make snowy Christmas cards then I will… Though I do prefer a warm Christmas day by the pool or at the beach lol.
I love these cards. I’m a sucker for little houses and have way more dies than I need but I can’t resist them. The ornament one is so pretty, some of my fav colors.
So happy you like these Sheron, these colours make me happy too!
I love the colors on both cards! Green, teal, and purple are favorites of mine. I’m glad I came to check out your blog so I could see your ornament card. It’s so pretty! The partial die cutting card is just so cute. I bet whoever you give it to will love it!
Thanks so much Melissa, they were both fun to make!
LOVE the purple sky with the teals! Great colors! I must say, the partial double die cutting does make a difference, well worth your efforts. I, on the other hand, will skip that because I do not want to be cussing while making Christmas cards! 🙂 I always forget what my “x” meant (cut? don’t cut?) and end up cutting off the wrong part! ARGH! I do NOT think in 3 dimensions 🙂
hahaha don’t worry June, I’ve done that very thing myself lol.
Therese I appreciate your explaining double die cutting. I love making box cards and adding all the little elements is sometimes touchy! Having the houses on the stripes makes perfect sense to me. I enjoyed your video very much and appreciate the time you took to explain the steps. Thank you.
so glad you enjoyed the video and technique Anne!
Such a classy card! I think i got the double partial die-cutting game plan….
Thanks so much Sandy!
Such a fun interactive card. Those little houses are darling. Thanks for the tutorial!
Thank you Karen!
Those ornaments are so pretty. What a fast way to do some Christmas Cards. Thanks for the inspiration.
They were such fun to make, thank you Dorthy!
Those colors! LOVE
Thanks so much Kim, I have found the Concord & 9th paper pack a massive inspiration for colour combos!
Both cards are beautiful. Would like to see how you made the ornaments card with the lovely shading. Looks like it could have been done using copics but your technique was probably easier
MUCH easier, I used a blending tool directly over the embossed bauble and I created a second piece to have as the string and top… hope that makes sense.
Absolutely stunning card. After watching your video, I think my nimbly knobby fingers might just be able to do this too! Great video and love the colour choices.
I hope you have fun with it Sunnie, it really is a great way to stretch your dies!
This happy winter scene makes me smile and the colors are delish! I think this would be a pretty Christmas Eve place setting little “guest gift”. Your videos are as cute as your cards. I think when you combine humor, honesty, great tips and a laugh or two or more – you have a winner!
Thanks so very much Mary
These are adorable. I love the ornament card. So far, I have like everything I have seen from Concord & 9th.
I totally agree, it’s been an amazing release!
This may sound silly but sometimes I force myself not to watch your videos as soon as they come out.. I wait a day or two so it came be a bing!! So glad you share your talent with all of us!
Beautiful color combination! Love the little houses.
Thanks so much Donna!
Thank you so much for the info! Very helpful video. Awesome card/
thanks so much Vickie!
Thanks for making this look so easy. I love the card and colors! Just beautiful!
It really is such a fun combination of die sets, it’s like they were made for each other!
This is the CUTEST! I love the idea of that 3-D technique! I have to try this with some of the things I have on hand.
Hope you have fun with this idea Angela!
I love tbis and I enjoy your videos so much
Thanks so very much Debbie!!
Hi
I really like the partial die cutting technique. That give an extra technique with the dies.
Also, I like the color pattern. Nontraditional colors so refreshing.
Beautiful card.
Thanks
Erica
Thanks so much Erica!
What a great technique. It really does give your dies more options. I love both of your cards. The colors choices are great!
I agree, it’s a great way to get more from your dies! thank you Charlotte!
