What? More FOILING? I just can’t get enough, and I have a SECRET……
Today’s video focuses on the fantastic Foil Art products from Crafty Critta, a wonderful Australian Store that primarily focuses on Toner Foiling products, but here’s a SECRET!!! On June 20th they will be releasing their very own Hot Foils and there will be 20 to choose from.
AND they will also have a NEW cardstock that works brilliantly with both Toner and Hot Foils, and we all know how hard that is to get right now lol. And if you do go shopping they do post internationally and I have a discount code lostinpaper05 to save 5% on your purchases!
I played with quite a few different foils and Toner sheets (including the coloured ones) and I thought it would be helpful if you could see how they look on finished card designs.

I kept most of the designs quite clean and simple as I wanted the foil to shine (wink)!

Did you know that you can ink blend the backgrounds after foiling to change up the colour??

This one is a new Hot Foil and it’s a holographic gold, isn’t it dreamy! This flower is a ‘camping colouring’.

When I saw this Rain Forest Toner Foil I knew there had to be a frog somewhere lol.

And the leftovers were reverse foiled onto a green coloured toner background.

And this little girl was from an unsuccessful card many years ago, I found her in my ‘reject’ pile when I was cleaning up recently and thought she needed a little love.

One of my FAVOURITE things is that this cardstock acts like a ‘Yupo’ style paper BUT it cuts beautifully through a die cutting machine, YAY!!

And who is ready for Christmas? I think this may be the earliest I have ever made a Christmas card lol.

And again the ‘reverse’ foil goes unwasted onto the purple coloured toner sheet.

You sure did surprise me with these darling cards, Therese! Proves your designing mind is in a league of its own!! Those green circles are my favorite of the foiled papers – AND cards! TOADily!
=]
Thanks so much Michele, I’m pleased as punch that you liked them!
Shiny and beautiful!
It’s the ‘shiny’ part that makes photographing funner lol.
I love how you turned them into cards. That shattered ice foil is stunning.
ooh, I know right, these foils really are a cut above any others I have tried and from a ‘mama and papa’ small Aussie company too, bring on the Hot Foils I say lol.
The cards you made out of your foiled backgrounds are great. Love the one with the camping colored flower. My favorite is the frog card as I love frogs and green and they go so well on the green foiled background. It is toadally awesome for sure!
hahaha This ‘toad’ set certainly didn’t leave my crafty space in the ‘big cull of 2022’, it’s just too cute and I’m glad you like it too. As soon as I saw the Rain Forest foil I knew a frog had to be in there somewhere lol.
I’ll take your “rejects” anytime! LOL!
I love the shattered foil, rain forest, baked sand and oil slick– SO COOL!
I have not been able to get good results with my laminator– maybe not hot enough? not enough pressure?…so disappointing. I did get a ton of foils and toner sheets from Crafty Critta– I was amazed at how quickly they arrived. Back to the drawing board!
If you are struggling with your laminator June here are some tips I’ve heard people say 1. Use the hottest heat if you have the option 2. Leave it on for 30 mins before you use it 3. Try a cardstock Shim 4. use a thin carrier sheet (copy or parchment paper – not the plastic sleeve from Heidi Swap) 5. Run your foiling through twice and some people even flip it over and refoil it upside down as I’ve heard the cheaper laminators may only have one roller inside – I think the Minc may have 2 rollers (I will have to look into that) 6. Let it cool before you remove the foil. Recently I saw a video by Nancy Stamps – the Queen of foiling – and she has 2 cheaper versions of laminators that recommends. For me, I gave up on my cheap laminator and just bought the Minc but only because I found a fantastic deal and was getting frustrated and now I love it again. Especially with these new Foils, Toner sheets and Foil Art… they are such fun to play with, I do hope these tips help you enjoy it too. Crafty hugs Therese x
