MARKERS on Coloured Cardstock, SERIOUSLY? Today, I’m going to take it ONE step further and share some tips with you along the way…
Recently I shared a card HERE where I used the Beach Garden Artist Markers (Set K) on ‘green’ cardstock. I had so many comments and questions that I thought it would be a fab idea to share my process in a video which you can find linked below.

This is part of my Take 2 Series with Altenew and I’m so excited to be back with another video today.
Card #1 – Where’s the Coloured Card?
Alright, I know this image isn’t on coloured cardstock, but there is a reason for that… I had the supplies out, so why not make multiples? But, what it did was give me a chance to ‘learn’ the image and where my shadows and highlights would be. It’s going to make colouring the next image much easier!

I used the Botanical Illustrations Stamp Set and stamped the same bouquet for both cards.

I added some Jet Black Ink splatters and a simple Fancy Greetings Sentiment.

Card #2 – Dark Coloured Cardstock!
After practicing, I was ready to tackle the Dark Gray Cardstock… YES, you heard me right, Dark Gray!

PRO TIP: Swatch out the colours you plan to use on a scrap piece of the coloured cardstock, it’s amazing just how different they can look!

I decided the subtle finish of this flower would make a perfect sympathy card design. So, I added a sentiment from the Fragile Foliage Stamp Set.

Both beautiful Therese. I am really liking the grey one as it is so very different and striking. A great sympathy card. Happy New Year. Looking forward to seeing what you have in store for us this year.

I would never have thought to use my artist markers on colored cardstock but you have inspired me to give it a try, Therese. Your cards are so lovely but each has a different feel to it. Wishing you many blessing in the New Year.
Thank you Bobby! Happy New Year to you too my friend x
WOW love the result. Will have to watch the youtube one day. Actually next time I have a sewing cutting day maybe I should put your youtube channel on the TV and just binge watch you instead of netflix! hehe I binge watched netflix yesterday while cutting a huge pile of toys!
I totally hear you, but I binge watch YouTube when I am crafting, if I put shows on then I forget to craft lol.
It is a balancing act! I like to think I’m doing something. A little off track I love knitting while reading I really feel like I’m really achieving things!
How wonderful Therese!
Thank you Helen!
