Are you addicted to interactive cards? Recently, I have been right into the SWING of things 😉…
I am back with another Same But Different Christmas Series 2024 set of cards, and today I am sharing 5 Ways to Make 5 Different Cards using ONE Sketch, and I have a video walking you through these techniques. For MORE Holiday inspiration see how to use BASIC SHAPES to make Christmas Cards, Click HERE, also how to use 1 STAMP SET 5 WAYS Click HERE , and create a sketch that can be flipped and flopped into 5 different designs HERE. (after you have seen today’s cards 😉).
Now let’s get moving… would you like to see today’s cards?

You can watch the video here or in HD on YouTube right HERE.
I use affiliate links, this means that if you click on a product that is linked to an affiliate shop then I will receive a small portion of the sale at no extra cost to you).
This is a great way to support me as well as the shops that we love 🥰!
I am very excited to be using some fun products that I recieved as a gift (with no strings attached), from Kat Scrappiness for today’s interactive designs. I would like to thank her for her support, but also, for creating such unique and inspring products! They are a small family run business, and just in case, you want to shop, I’m ging to share my link, right HERE!
#INTERACTIVE
There are so many ways to create interactive cards. Shakers, Sliders, Tilters… Pop Ups, Light Ups and Spinners! And although it may be easier to use specialty products to create these designs, sometimes using what you have to change things up and create an interactive card is just as much fun. My first 2 ideas do just that… and then we get to the fun bit!
Idea #1 – Shaker
With so many ‘purpose’ built shaker dies available, you may ask why I would want to change an image up to make a shaker… my answer is, why not? This is a great way to stretch the supplies you have and it will add something special to your card, because let’s face it, who doesn’t love a shaker!

This small bauble became a shaker with the help of a small circle die, but I think a ‘diamond’ shape would look wonderful too. Smaller areas do not allow for a LOT of products to be inserted to shake, but it was definitely fun to add these little Grinch faces.

Idea #2 – Let’s Swing!
I’ve been swinging a lot of cards recently 😉, but this bauble was the perfect choice. This is a very simple mechanism that can be adapted to many different designs/images. And with a little pre planning is actually not that difficult to do.

BONUS TIP: Don’t have the correct colour of rhinestones… did you know that you can colour them using Alcohol Markers like I did here.

Idea #3 – Pop Up Box Cards
Now let’s take a breath, because it’s time to use some ‘purpose built’ interactive dies. And, it’s definitely an easier and faster option, especially if you want to create multiples. Check out this 3D Pop Up Box, it’s absolutely fabulous AND it lays flat for postage!

I prefer creating these cards with a lighter weight cardstock for the base and Add-On layers as it makes the ‘Pop Up’ movement feel easier.
For the background, on the base, I adhered the Merry Grinchmas design paper to the white cardstock. But, did not need this for the front 3 Add-On die cuts (this design paper is high quality and heavy weight).

Look HOW wide this card is… it’s hard to believe that it folds FLAT!

Bonus Card!
I couldn’t stop at one 😂! Check out this cute as, Grinch running off with someone’s Christmas tree…

PRO TIP: When creating interactive cards, careful placement of elements, embellishments and layering dimension can make a difference. Ensure that these will not be in the road of the moving mechanism. I usually do this by testing before adhering.

All together

So cute, Therese, and a great way to use that patterned paper.
Yes, I’m trying to USE it instead of ‘hoarding’ lol. So glad you like it Bobby!
Oh, Therese. If I wasn’t so broken-hearted today, this would make me smile so big. x

Yes hon, sending hugs your way x
Great ideas. I liked seeing how you constructed the swinging card. What is the postage like for Kat’s scrappiness to Australia?
