Step Inside My Craft Room | Storage Tips & Inspiration for Cardmakers (+Video)!

Are you ready to walk with me through my crafty space? I’ll bet, you will never guess what I have tucked away in there…

Welcome to my craft room!

If you’ve ever wondered where the cardmaking magic happens—or how I try to keep all my supplies under control—this post (and the video below!) is for you.

Crafting starts with a space that works!

In this walkthrough, I’m giving you a behind-the-scenes tour of my creative space. It’s not a showroom—it’s a working room. And over the years, I’ve tested and tweaked a bunch of organizing ideas to make it feel both inspiring and functional.

My Goal with This Space?

To create a room that makes it easy to craft—without having to dig through piles or feel overwhelmed.
And to prove that with a few clever storage ideas, you can make any space work for you.

From open cupboards to clear bins, and even the odd rolling cart, it’s all about what makes your creative time stress-free and fun!

Want to Get Started on Your Own Space?

It doesn’t matter whether your craft space is small or large—using clever storage techniques can make a huge difference in how your space functions and feels.

A well-organized room (or corner!) means less time searching and more time creating. And it doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. Sometimes the simplest ideas are the most effective.

Here are a few guiding principles that helped me transform my space:

  • Group like-with-like
It makes finding what you need faster and keeps your space feeling streamlined.
  • Don’t overcomplicate your systems
If it’s too fiddly or high-maintenance, you won’t stick with it. Simple = sustainable!
  • Label everything
Even if you think you’ll remember… you won’t. Labels are your future best friend.
  • Make it joyful
Add something personal or pretty that makes you smile every time you walk in—because your creative space should spark creativity.

Your space doesn’t have to be perfect—it just has to work for you. Start with one drawer, one shelf, or even just your desk surface, and build from there. You’ve got this!

Thanks so much for stopping by my crafty corner!

  1. Hi Therese, your craft space has certainly grown. Can you tell me about the rack in front of the pegboard that holds your stamp positioner and scoreboard etc.please? Mary

    1. Hi Mary, I think you are asking about the pot and lid holder stand, there are many of these out there and they come in all shapes and sizes. I would look at how many things you want to ‘upright’ store before you commit (I can fit a couple of items in each slot if they aren’t too thick). I chose one that had ‘high’ inserts and I can also adjust the width of the inserts. I bought mine from Amazon Australia (this is an affiliate link which I get a small commission at no extra cost to you if you use it) but many other places sell them too. https://amzn.to/4m3a6i0 Hope this helps, Hugs Therese

  2. Great video Therese, I looked seeing your fabulous craft space, super organised and tidy. Super tips and tricks for storage. Thanks for sharing. Hugs xx

  3. I love the divider for all your “thin” tools like your Misti, StampWheel, etc– I NEED one!
I am definitely going to organize so I use the stuff I have. As you say, if I don’t see it, I don’t use it.
Your storage envelopes for your stamps are terrific. I am trying to keep stamp/die/stencils together so I am not wasting time searching for coordinating products. I am beginning to realize that an investment in sturdy storage envelopes is money well spent.
Thank you for the great ideas!
