Time for Graffiti at Cards4Men (video)!

One of my all time faves when it comes to masculine cards is the Graffiti technique.  It may be because I get to make a real mess and join up heaps of different stamps sets (which I love to do).  Hope you are having fun with this mini series, I know I’m having a blast making it!

Time to challenge… Marion!

My very wonderful blog friend Marion suggested when I met her last year that we should do a ‘little challenge’, what a fantastic idea I said.  Well that was June last year and life kinda got in the way….   until now.  So she spent a whole 3 minutes on Pinterest and came up with this photo for inspiration, oh WOW!

And after some deliberation I decided to stray away from the butterflies and went for a floral take, hope you like it.

Hello Baby!

Sadly I missed last month’s sketch with Lisa, what with an overseas holiday, then visitors and both our computers were in the hospital so I couldn’t even edit a photo…  gasp!  Now I’m back on track and had a few minutes to spare today (well not really I should be cleaning the house before our next visitors arrive tonight) but I ‘needed’ to make a card for fun.  So I thought I would film as I go just in case you had a few spare minutes to watch when you ‘could’  be cleaning the house too (wink)!

Graffiti at Muse!

This week for Muse I wanted to share a card I made for a guy who was leaving at work (for some reason I’m the designated creator of cards for all occasions at work…  which I’m sure may ring true to many of you as well lol)

This is a fun graffiti technique that was shared by Shari Carroll at the Online Card Class, and I especially love it for masculine designs.  I hope you have some fun with it and I can’t wait to see how you are inspired.

Lovely Mums!

It’s Mother’s Day today in Australia and the weather here is perfect!  I was lucky enough to have this card published this year for the Mother’s Day feature with the Australian Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft magazine.  This set from ME is a stunner, the flowers and sentiments, well they really do say it all.

Definitely out of the box for me, I felt like making an unexpected card for one of my close friends who turned 40.  Not my best photos….   but I’m sure you get the idea, ps her 5 year old son thinks it’s the best thing since sliced bread, the card is constantly in a state of flux!

Graffiti Pandamonium!

I was so excited when my new stamps arrived from Mama Elephant that when my hubby asked me to create a 21st card from a group of workmates that I just had to ink them up for the current Challenge!    …and ever since I saw Shari Carroll make her fabulous Graffiti inlay die cut card at the Online Card Class  I have been addicted to this style, so I thought I would combine the two.

Garden of Life!

So I was swimming my laps this morning and thinking about making cards (of course) and was trying to think of an idea how to use the fab inspiration from Mama Elephants current challenge.  Then I thought of my Mother’s obsession with her glass bowl with said flowers in the centre and I knew that there was no way I could make anything else until this was created and out of my head lol.  So here it is…   hope you like it Mum x.

Shine Bright!

Back with some more Textural Effects and this time it ‘s embossing paste.  I do love the look of the Inka Gold used as an embossing paste although I found that I had to add a little water as it was too ‘thick’ for those little stars, once I did that it was all fine.

Happiness is faux letterpress!

Back with another installment for the Online Clean & Simple class and this time the technique is faux letterpress…  so I thought it really should be elegant so out came the damask.  It’s been an eon since I’ve used this stamp and it’s still a stunner in my book.

It’s a Good Day!

Making cards for fun!  I  haven’t had the opportunity to do this in what feels like eons, life has been uber busy at the moment and no hope of settling down for a few more weeks yet.  But I couldn’t resist Lisa’s Wanna Sketch and the colours in this Runway Inspiration are perfect, I  thought I would also add the bunny for the ‘fur’ element too.

Riddle me this….  is it still a OLC when I have used coloured cardstock on top of a card base?
