Continuing with my Design Inspiration Series, I have revisited the beautiful packaging that I used in this LIVE Video HERE, you can see the first card HERE. What’s not to love about this beautiful packaging, so it was easy to be inspired. What do YOU See when you look at it??
Is it the colour combinations, the gold highlights/outlines or maybe the ribbon or wooden ring. The great thing about inspiration is that you can take what YOU want from it. and use as little or as much as you want. And as you may have noticed, I took the inspiration quite literally with my card today.
#1 – Colours
I kept the colours very literal and acutally matched them by holding them up against the packaging.
PRO TIP: Don’t have the exact colours? You can always ink blend inks onto cardstock to create the perfect colour.
#2 – Gold Outline
I used gold embossing powder to mimic the gold floral outlines. But my first card design was different, I used a gold cardstock to die cut the outline instead (although it did take me a while to get it to work 😉).
#3 – Flowers
You may notice that the flower style I chose is also very similar to the packaging. Obviously, this could easily be changed to use any outline flowers that you have in your stash.
Bonus Idea: Pop-Up
Let’s take it a step further and decorate the inside of the card… and make it a Pop-Up, NO special tools are required!
