More shaker inspiration? But, this one is just a little different…. today let’s turn things Inside Out!

After making this Dome shaker card HERE, I had an idea… I wanted to see if I could make it work on the ‘inside’ of the card… and then, I also wanted to make an ‘inside’ shaker where you didn’t need the Dome… so that is why there is 2 cards today!

Card #1
It’s time for the Grinch! Yes, I am feeling a little ‘Grinchy’ right now, and this fellow makes me smile. Nesting dies are your friend when it comes to creating shaker cards and this fun shape adds such interest to a design. But, take it a step further and add a co-ordinating ‘Shaker Dome‘ and you have an easy shaker in a snap!
These domes are definitely on the ‘deeper’ side so I knew this would be perfect for these Shaker bits. And if you watched the video you may have seen my mishap on the front panel… I’m not sure if you can see it here, but I have added a ‘fake’ inside panel of white cardstock to square things up and make it look lovely and neat. Some ‘crafty’ crafting right there!
I used some cute design paper today, but plain cardstock or even a stamped or stencilled background would work just as well.
Card #2
Next, I thought I would see if there was a way to create an inside shaker without the Domes… I kept the card as an A2 size but had to cut it 5mm wider. This allowed me to score 2 lines in the centre (5mm apart) which created a ‘spine’ at the fold, to accomodate the thickness of the foam panel I added to the inside for the shaker.
I used some ‘left over’ blooms from this set of Floral Christmas cards HERE. And made a regular style shaker well with some doubled up foam tape.
Nesting dies are your friend here too, because I was able to add a co-ordinating frame border and for fun, I popped up the sentiment on the acetate.
