I feel like it’s all boy cards at the moment, not so much of the pretty bling & glitter. But it’s my fab nephew’s birthday soon & I thought I would ink up my new Practicing Creativity stamps & what better for boys than a bicycle. I was looking for inspiration and couldn’t go past the current Clean & Simple FTL.
Today I thought I would also share a wonderful card that arrived in the mail from my neice. I had such a fab time making cards with her when she was visiting over christmas and I am soooo happy that she is now playing with paper… she is such a creative, clever girl, I just LoVe her work!
I saw Jay Gees latest challenge & knew that I had to be in it, despite the fact that I’m off to work shortly… a little pressure is good isn’t it! Sometimes it can take me days to finish a card, too much deliberation…. it’s something I’m working on. Anyhoo, here it is!
This is a card I made for a work colleague who has had major surgery, just to let him know that we are all thinking about him & hopefully put a little smile on his face. This is a pre-coloured downloaded image (from a card program) that I just topped up with one of my favourtie things… Copics. I loved the recent Clean & Simple sketch sooo much that I thought it was a perfect opportunity to use it again!

How could I resist the ‘Combined Grind’ of my two favourite challenge sites! Love those colours from the Play Date Cafe & the beautiful card from the CASE Study Muse Eva Dobilas for CSC27. Thanks again for helping us push those boundaries!
Here’s my big news – I’ve been published! I am so so so very excited that my cards were accepted by Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft magazine. And even more fabulously (is that a word?) these cards are doing a little tour with the Craft Expo and will be travelling around Australia & New Zealand! I just noticed that I made the cover of the mag… could my day get any better!
Don’t you just love these colours, this paper pad would have to be one of my favourites (I think I say that about all October Afternoon papers), and aren’t those animals just too cute! I hope you like them as much as I do.

I’m not saying goodbye, this is yet another farewell card! This is my entry for Jay Gee’s Nook current inspiration challenge, just love those colours!
While I’ve got your attention I would just like to let you know that I have found a wonderful way we can help some of the people who have been devistated by the recent floods in Queensland. Heart Cards is collecting cards to send to the families affected by the recent floods. Thanks for your wonderful effort Shazz, you are truly inspirational. I had better get making right now!
So I am back for the last Caardvarks Challenge – to make a monochromatic card (couldn’t resist). So I used some inspiration from the current Clean & Simple Layout. It’s a good place to go when the mojo is low, the FTL sketches are always fab! I had a little help from two of my nieces (ages 7 & 8). They were visiting after a day at the beach, we have had sooooo much rain here in the past few weeks it has been wonderful to finally see the sun. I thought I would also share the card that the girls made (with very minimal help from me – and a few token scraps lifted from the desk).
Here’s wishing you a wonderful Christmas & a happy holiday season. I’d just like to take a moment to thank you for all of your kind comments & support on my new blog. I have met so many wonderful & talented people that I just can’t wait to see what is going to happen in 2011.
I LoVe, LOve, LovE this wreath stamp from Hero Arts. This is my Xmas card for 2010, it had to be simple as time has been a little short recently, I’m sure you understand… I was inspired by a Chrismas card made by Nichol Magouirk (who makes the most amazing videos!).
So I needed a quick Thank You card… and of course there was not one in my stash. I’ve had an idea in my head and was inspired by the CASE Study Challenge (loved Nina’s black & white butterfly) as well as the colours from the current Play Date Cafe Challenge. What a great mix!

So it’s time for more challenges & this time the theme seems to be Red & White. So I thought I would stay away from the Xmas theme (I need a change). I just adore this stamp set from PTI & what could be better than a racy red VW! I am entering this card into the current Play Date Cafe Challenge as well as Jay Gee’s Nook photo inspiration challenge. Gotta love gingham ribbon!

This is my entry to the current Ribbon Girl Blog Colour Challenge. I thought this was going to be a lttle more subtle… but the end result never quite turns out like the inital vision.
Fancy having a birthday soooo close to Xmas… mine is conveniently located in the middle of the year. I have quite a few family & friends who celebrate their birthdays in December & January including my nephew who is getting this bright bird flying his way. This is my entry into the current challenges for There She Goes Cards for Kids Challenge as well as Caardvarks Gift Card Money Holders Challenge.
Happy Sunday! I’m enjoying a relaxing Sunday off work…. yaaay, looking after my poor husband who is currently suffering manflu… not so yaay. It’s a terrible disease which stops absolutely everything in their lives for at least 3 days. I am hoping that my nursing abilities may just bring him through, we’ll just have to wait and see. I am coping by making a card for the current CASE Study Challenge which I am sad to say is Heather’s last Muse.
This is my entry for the current Scrapbook Boutique Challenge. The challenge is to use at least 2 butterlies on a card… this is perfect, I just love butterflies! And just for fun I thought I would keep it nice & bright, just like their wonderful cupcake inspiration photo.

I just loveHeather Pulvirenti’s cards and it great to have her as the Muse this month (thanks CASE Study). This is the card for our inspiration.

So I had a request to make a wedding card. That was not so unusual until I heard the word Pohutakawa tree… that was when I thought I may be in a little trouble! I found out that it was a beautiful tree from New Zealand! The other instructions included Bright & Funky, marathon runner, Koru, Builder & Sailor… Easy Peasy. This is what I came up with using the current 2 Sketches 4 You Challenge.

This is my entry for the current Diggin’ on Damask Challenge in the Moxie Fab World. Obviously I’m trying to be good & staying with the Christmas card theme, a little more traditional this time (no chickens). It’s also the first time I’ve used my heat & stick powder – despite the fact I bought it a little while ago… with the greatest of intentions.
