I’ve got a quick share today, this is a card that was published with the Australian Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft magazine for a feature that they had on guess what?…… yes, I’ll bet you guessed it, light bulbs!
I’m heading off to work now, what are you doing with your Sunday arvo?
Hey there, I’m back with another video for Scrapbook Boutique and it’s some more colouring today. Honestly, these Art Impressions images really make me smile and even more so when I get to colour them!
I made these cards months ago as they were for a publication call with the Australian Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft magazine, but I think they are my favourite Chrissy cards for this year. I really like the simplicity of the first and then the bokeh colours, well they kinda make me smile, especially with the shimmer of the sequins. I hope that today you find a smile and get to spend some time with some fun people and of course eat-a-plenty!
(For this call we had to make a card that had two versions one that was simple and easy to reproduce and a more complex version for special friends & family)
Hope you have a wonderful day, whatever it is that you are doing,
This is a ‘must have’ set from Paper Smooches, how much fun is this cute little Superman, and so great to colour too. I was lucky enough to have this card published and now it’s travelling with my Mum to give to Dad today.
One of my all time faves when it comes to masculine cards is the Graffiti technique. It may be because I get to make a real mess and join up heaps of different stamps sets (which I love to do). Hope you are having fun with this mini series, I know I’m having a blast making it!
Here is my next card in my Cards4Men mini series and like I’ve been saying it’s all about being bold and bright and cas…. colour blocking is perfect on a masculine card and a great way to use up those scraps of cardstock (because you know if you use them up it means you can go shopping again, really!).
Today I found a few minutes to try Laura’s ombre background technique. I adore gingham, especially on baby cards so thought that the ombre style would be perfect especially with this fab onesie die cut from Paper Smooches.
Have a great weekend, I’m sure to be back real soon!
Welcome to my mini series Cards4Men! I’m so excited to finally have some ‘me’ time to create this as it was on my to do list this year and guess what, it’s July already, go figure. So I went to my card stash the other day and I really had no masculine cards to speak of so, opportunity seized and voila a card mini series was born.
When it comes to Cards4Men here are a few basic tips that work for me…
keep it simple
make it bold & bright
use graphic design
humour (they love this)
and keep it simple
use dedicated masculine stamp sets
use plain fonts
avoid bling, lace & ribbon (usually)
and did I say keep it simple
I thought I would start with a fun card using some Super stamps from Paper Smooches, these images can be used for men young and old, and they are fun to boot!
