Enjoy the Ride… double the challenge!

I wanted to make a card for ‘fun’!  So I just checked out a couple of my fave challenges and combined them to create this.  CAS-ual Fridays is having an ‘On the Red Carpet’ challenge where one of my best blog friends is the Guest Designer, Go team Marion!  My card was inspired by ‘Herbie’ (The Lovebug), he was such a hero in our house that we had a pet galah named after him when we were kids!  I couldn’t resist joining Less Is More this week to celebrate their 1st birthday, what a fantastic challenge site Chrissie and Mandi have created, thank you for all your hard work over the past year.  This week it’s a colour challenge and it’s Aqua!

ur a classic!

This is a set of cards that I recently had published in the Australian Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft Magazine.  I have used this PTI set over and over and over, it is ab fab!
It’s another ‘rainy’ ride to work for me  today, definitely a stay at home movie day if there was a choice!  It hasn’t stopped…. some areas here have had over 8″ in the last day or so, no wonder it’s flooding!

Card Class – Day 3!

Before I start I would just like to thank everybody for their lovely comments on my first video tutorial yesterday.  Gotta love those steep learning curves, and this was definitely one of those, but was heaps of fun all the same!

Another amazing class, I’m loving the inspiration and it’s such a buzz meeting all my wonderful new blog friends!   After watching Jennifer McGuire’s class I made this monochromatic ‘built up’ die cut card using this gorgeous rickrack die from PTI, dontcha just adore it!  I thought I would ‘keep it simple’, isn’t that what this is all about.  Anyhoo, this is the perfect opportunity to join the Die Cutting Challenge in the Moxie Fab World!  They have the best ‘Cool Tools’ challenges happening at the moment.  ETA – I would also like to enter this weeks Make It Monday Challenge over at Papertrey Ink which is to create a background using border dies…  perfect!

Don’t go too far though, I’ll be back in just a short while with the AnnaBelle Stamps Friday post and there are ‘sneak peeks’ involved, ready for the big release day tomorrow!  Hope your day is turning out  as great as mine!

Joy – Wreath ***

This is one of my favorite Xmas stamps, and I just love the idea of purple and white for a Xmas card!  These cards were also published in the September edition of the Australian Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft magazine.   The aim was to create two versions of the same card, I really like how they both turned out, although my fave would probably be the simple version…   of course! (my apologies but the photos are quite dark)

How could I resist this weeks CASE Study where the challenge is to CASE one of Iwona’s cards!  They have been celebrating all month, Happy Anniversary CASE!   Honestly Iwona’s cards are so AMAZING it was hard to choose just one!   So as I was scrolling through her blog I found this card that just totally blew me away when I originally saw it and knew that it had to be that one.  I also wanted to combine it with this weeks wonderful colours at The Play Date Cafe, aren’t they just the best colour combo!!

Inspired Just Because!

What a fabulous anniversary week at CASE Study the challenge is to case one of the designers!  The only problem is that I am inspired by soooo many designers it was very difficult just to pick one!   Eventually I chose this amazing card by Karen B, I totally love her style and if you have ever visited her blog you will probably know that  she makes the most amazing cards!  I had this gorgeous ‘shiny’ pink cardstock that was hidden in the depths of my stash which had been recently resurected during a tidying frenzy and it was time to be cut!  I am also loving my new background stamp from Hero Arts which is totally groovy.  Thanks for visiting me today, hope you are having a good week yourself!

Here is my entry for the current Tueday Trigger : Luminos Layers!  What a fabulous inspiration from Cath this week.  I thought that I would incorporate all those wonderful patterns and colours and the ‘flowing layers’ kinda reminded me of butterflies, so here they are!  Hope you like it.

Congrats Grandma!

I was asked to make a ‘Congrats New Grandma’ card.  I wanted it to be pretty and thought the colours from the current Embellish Magazine Patterned Paper Color Trends Challenge would be just perfect!  I struggled a little with this card and originally had plans to join CASE this week, but of course ‘the procrastinator’ returned and I missed the deadline…    and I really have been so much more decisive lately, or have I? (LOL)

Lotus Splash

Hands up who loves new stamps!  I know I do, and guess what arrived in my mailbox last week, this new Hero Arts background stamp, and it is totally awesome!!  So of course it came in handy for the Play Date Cafe Splash of colour challenge (which I just love).  I’ve been coveting gold lately, so that meant it had to be ‘my splash’.

Whale of a Birthday!

Another nautical card…  obviously it’s a new trend that I missed, again!  This time it’s Jay Gee’s Nook Challenge, totally rad inspiration!  I chose the whale (see the stuffed toy in the top right hand corner), I’ve had this stamp for a little while and it was time he met some ink.  I was going to go all cutesy, but then…   didn’t.  My original vision turned out very differently to finished product, have you ever had that happen to you?

Butterfly Dreams!

I want ot share with you one of my recent publications in the Australian Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft magazine.  This is one of my favourite colour combinations and I have shares in Bazzill papers – Dragonfly and Swimming Pool and my Copic BG10 is my ‘all time’ favourite colour!  I will mix it with anything but  adore it when mixed with yellow… as you can see.  Please excuse the poor quality photos, these were taken pre Light Box days  (I LOVE my light box – I can take photos anytime now, yippee!…  Did I tell you that I love my light box?).  I nearly forgot to mention that my ‘Dreams’ card made the front cover, I totally did a little dance over that!!

Sweet Neapolitan

For this card I combined the Lawnscaping CAS Challenge with this weeks Tuesday Trigger : Cosmopolitan Neapolitan.  I was inspired by the neapolitan colours, of course, and icecream is ‘sweet’ and that’s what it says on my card…  there was some logic there originally, but for the life of me I can’t find it now, anyhow…   I was inspired by something.   My apologies in advance, it’s not the best photo,  but I promise you I really did use the PTI impression plate.

Congratulations!

I decided to incorporate two challenges in this one blog as the cards are very similar.  My first card is for the new CAS-ual Fridays blog challenge where the theme this week is Graduation, hard to believe we are in the ‘middle’ of our school year here!   Maybe I got just a little carried away with the bright colours this time.  I do love bright though…  they seem so cheery!

So I’ve been sitting here making my cards and for about the last hour I’ve been watching these two Kookaburras sitting on my back fence.  So here’s a pic just in case your interested!  (my apologies for the blur factor – I took the photo through my window, and then I probably also moved it when I snapped, it’s my favourite trick!)

It’s a girl!

Well… at least my giraffe is a girl, you can tell because she is pretty in pink, ‘sweet blush’ to be exact!  I needed to make something ‘cute’, and this is what I came up with when I combined a couple of my favourite challenges.  Heather has another Totally Hues Challenge and Scrapbook Boutique would like some stitching.  Have I told you that I used to ‘cross stitch’, there is a limit though, of just how much stuff you can hang on your walls or give away!  But as a consequence I now have every DMC colour and will never run out in my lifetime.  It is weird though, I would think nothing of sewing for hours and now I struggle just to add 3 stitches to a card, go figure.    So here it is…  hope you like it!

Chevron Madness!

So I finally cut into a piece of paper that I have been ‘hoarding’ for a little while now…. how are those luscous bright chevron stripes, I nearly cried, but then I can now enjoy the card, and of course…  I can buy more…  I hope!  Thank you Moxie Fab for helping me remember that I actually buy it to use it.  This is my entry for the Chevron Chic Challenge in the Moxie Fab World!    (I was just taking a look at my card and was wondering…   do I have enough Chevrons?)
